The Best Coffee Machine also Does Pourover and Cold Brew
Automatic coffee makers, like coffee itself, have gone from abysmal to stellar in the past decade. Breville’s Precision Brewer Thermal is the best of the best.
Coffee machines started to get good when makers focused on even water distribution over the grounds instead of a single point of drip—mimicking as much as possible the way water is distributed manually during a pour-over method. You can draw a straight line between those machines and the Precision Thermal. In fact, you can even use the Thermal (with an adapter and the right tools) to do pour-over.
The Precision Thermal also has modes for cold brew, iced coffee, and more, but where it excels beyond the fierce competition is temperature control. Exacting and customizable temperature levels are maintained throughout the brewing process, especially on the “Gold” cycle, which automatically adjusts temp to meet the precise standards of the Specialty Coffee Association, and all with the press of a button.
Pair it with my favorite grinder, Breville’s Smart Grinder Pro.
